Don't Blame US, blame the troops....
Rudy Giuliani recently blamed the troops for Al-Qaqaa. On the Today show a couple of days ago( the 28th) Rudy said:
LOL.
Just like Abu Ghraib was the fault of a 'few bad apples'. Never mind that Bush and Co. have said that the Geneva Convention didn't apply to the War on Terrorism. Note that none of the Commanders are on trial or have been 'fired'.
In fact I think antiwar.com has a great set of articles dealing with the Iraqi prison Scandal.
See in Bushworld, you don't get in trouble for ordering someone ELSE to torture a prisoner- you get in trouble if you're the unlucky private who has to DO something, like torturing a prisoner or FAILING to secure explosives... even if you weren't told to secure the explosives in the first or second place.
This reminds me of what happened with Robert Novack. You see Valerie Phlame's husband Joseph Wilson was an ambassador and he PUBLICLY came out and said that the whole story of Saddam trying to buy 'radioactive yellow cakes' from Niger was a bunch of horse crap. So Rove and the Republican war machine went for the kill. They called several reporters and 'leaked' the fact that Valerie Phlame was a CIA operative... and thus her husband was just a stup who got his assignments because of his wife. No REAL journalist wanted to report this, as well blowing an agent's cover is treasonous. Robert Novack however, stood up and said 'I'm your man!' and published this story.
Now I read in a local paper that INSTEAD of questioning Novack, who pretty much did what the RNC wanted him to do--- They've gone on a witch hunt, Arresting reporters who ADMIT they were leaked the same information about Valerie Phlame, but refused to actually print the information.
No matter how you try to blame it on the President, the actual responsibility for it should be on the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough?
