I'm going to HELL!

Let me explain as this will lead to a quasi political point.
I'm Jewish. Now I grew up in NYC, going to a Jewish grade school, and my high school was a mix of JAPs and WASPs- who all worshiped the almighty dollar. My father's second wife is Christian, so I realized at some point A) I, a Jew, did not believe in Jesus as Messiah. This is something that was part birthright, as my mom was a Jew, her mom was a Jew, her mom was a Jew and so on back to [theoretically] Eve; and part ME not believing that Jesus is all that....

In college I was subjected to more diversity which included some stupid people saying " I never met a Jew before" and others trying to convert me. Sure we had crazy religious zealots in NYC but they LOOKED like religious zealots and not like your next door neighbor.
Anyway in one of my classes- background to lit. I had to read parts of the NEW testament and Dante's divine comedy. Reading Dante and getting handed religious tracts I realized B) People who don't believe that Jesus is the Messiah are HEATHENS and C) Heathens go to Hell. Having also taken logic I realized if A) I'm a jew equals B) Non Christians are heathens and b) Heathens equals c) going to Hell when you die then A) I'm a jew equals c) I'm going to Hell.

Now my caring about this is minimal because most of my friends are joining me in Hell. Yeah it prolly won't be Dante's virtuous pagan level( which I'd have a gas if it was) but still I'll be in good company. See most of my friends are atheists, pagans, fellow jews, gays or one case has bought his $6 ticket to HELL. Which is to say even though he goes to church every week- he went to Last Temptation of Christ, which means according to the pope that he's going to Hell.

Oh and I forgot- being jewish means I don't believe in Hell so while Christians want to send me to Hell, I personally believe more in a dirt nap or in a recycle slash reincarnation thing.

Now to bring this to politics, I was talking to a friend (Mike) and I told him that I was sorta unhappy because it's clear to ME that W. being a 'born again Christian" wants me to GO TO HELL. I truly believe that W.'s plans in the Middle East are to bring about World War III, which in turn will bring about the Rapture. Mike corrected me and pointed out that W. wants me to CONVERT to Christianity and failing that he wants me to go to hell when he brings about the Rapture.

I really don't like the idea of a president who wants me to go to Hell. I mean yes, technically that's a cornerstone of Christianity... but I didn't get that sense from any other president in my lifetime before W. I think that's because W. is really the most religious president we've had. Often times he will instead of saying 'lives' will say 'souls' and I cringe every time he mentions God as I know his God isn't my God. And I really do believe that he's keen to bring about WW III, he thinks he's a morally superior man and will get into Heaven REAL easy- that's one of the reason I liked Bill Clintion. Bill KNEW he was a bit of sinner, just like the rest of us, so didn't want Judgment Day coming ANY time soon... while W. will welcome it as he thinks he's going to Heaven and all the people in the 'bad states' are gonna go to Hell.

See I did make it political. ;-) Don't vote for people who want you to go to HELL slash don't respect YOUR religious beliefs

As another non-believer in Hell, I like your point that if there was one, and we were all going, we'd at least be in good company. Maybe we could start a Dungeons and Dragons game there while we hang out for eternity....
