Road Block at Gym

Well I went to the GYM tonight to try and get a trainer to start me on an exercise program. Part of the whole new shape up philosophy I'm trying.

Turns out they can't start me on an exercise program until they talk to my doctor. Seems I'm too fat for them and too old. They actually had on their forms that if you're older then 35, they have to talk to your doctor.

I however got peeved that they thought *I* was too heavy to just start exercising.

The NERVE.

Worse, besides hurting my self image- by calling me fat; it helps to keep me fat by not letting me have an exercise plan for a couple of weeks, as they need to talk to my doctor and then set up a new appointment.

    That's SO not cool.

And it's been forever since I belonged to a gym but I didn't realize they could do that.

    Hmm.

    Yeah...

I'd say it was ageism... BUT on the other hand it's a college gym sooo maybe they're used to dealing with young'ums. I just didn't think of 35 as OLD.

but I'm older then 35, and would rather be safer then sorry.

Nah, 35 isn't old. Not at all.

And I'm with you, I'd rather be safe than sorry too but I'd still be peeved. LOL.
