Active V. Passive

I want to ask whomever reads this to help me with a philosophical problem I’ve had for a bit of time- who is more annoying someone who ACTIVELY is annoying, that is they go out of their way to be annoying or someone who is PASSIVELY annoying, someone whom by their very nature annoys you?

I’ve wrestled with this question for years as I’ve known both and have thought about this awhile. For me, the crux is the idea that IF someone is going out of their way to annoy you; isn’t that worse then someone who existence annoys you?

This was brought up yesterday- because sadly when two or more of us at the gift store are out of ear shot of Kenny, we end up slamming him. However this time, for some reason Jen- a previous Assistant Manager was mentioned, as someone mentioned they preferred HER to Kenny. I disagreed. For while I find Kenny to be annoying and a slacker of the ultimate power; Jen HATED me and used her powers for evil.
Jen was the one who came up with the ‘brilliant’ idea of making US responsible for covering our shift if we were sick- i.e. if I called in sick, according to Jen, I would then have to try calling other people to cover my shift- never mind the fact that I was sick and perhaps puking my guts out. It was because of this idea of her, that my phone number was given out without my permission and I was pranked called. She also had a habit of scheduling me for 5 days a week, even though I was hired for part time at 4 days a week and was working at the game store for a day… So because of her I had a few six day work weeks, without her asking me.
Heck when I found out that 4 days was full time… and I decided that I only wanted to work 4 days at the gift store and one day at the game store, so I gave her a schedule where I was only available for FOUR days so she couldn’t over schedule me. Jen refused my 4 day schedule- saying that I was given full time because of my willingness to work 5 days. I was angry… left for break… then I told another assistant manager to let Jen know that I wanted ON PAPER Jen’s refusal to accept my schedule. For while it had been true when I was hired part time, I told the manager if he wanted to make me full time- I’d work there 5 days a week and quit the game store… That was BEFORE I knew that I only had to work 4 days at the gift store to get full time benefits. Jen backed down and that’s why I still have the schedule I have- because I don’t trust the people at the gift store to give me a 4 day work week without blocking out 3 days.

So I hate Jen- who was actively bad to me more then Ken who is just a prick. Yeah Ken has tried to narc on me a couple of times… But I don’t think of Kenny as EVIL as I did Jen, I just think he’s an a-hole.

However, again, I’d like to hear any views you guys might have- because I usually think ACTIVILY ANNOYING is worse- I have hated some people( like Kenny) because by their BEING, they just piss me off.
