Saddam is dead... Who Cares?
Ok... it cost billions of $$$, thousands of american lives- in fact we've lost more americans in Iraq then we did on 9 F'ing 11, and at least 10x more Iraqi lives then americans...
However I have to admit last night at work, I was told that Saddam was killed and I was like 'so what'... I then had to check to see what time the T stopped running as I was scheduled to work until Midnight... and was reminded that the price for public transit goes UP in Jan. It will cost 1.70 instead of the 1.20 now... and my monthly pass goes up from 44.00 to 59.00
And I have to and at the same time hate to say- the rise in cost of my commute, affects me MORE then Saddam's death. I'm sorry... I'm going to GMA to get a bit snarkier but I'm tired and grumpy but a) I don't think that Saddam's death was worth what the U.S. and Iraq has paid for it, even after I was calling for his death in the first Gulf War and b) I can't help but think that if Saddam can be tried and killed for what his troops did during a war- then why aren't we hanging W. for the same crimes? as right now I can't see much different between between them... save for W. has managed to destroy TWO countries( IRAQ and America) and Saddam just ended up messing up Iraq.
