I'm back!
Quick note as I've got several things going on today- downloading a ton of stuff for the computer, exercise and working at the game store.
The repairperson came yesterday to install the new hard drive. He arrived a 1/2 hour late, had problems taking out the non working hard drive and ended up taking a hour and 1/2 to do a '20 min.' job.
He was unable to take out the old hard drive... so on Monday I have to call Alienware and explain to them that I can't send them the old drive and they should NOT charge me for it. Not looking forward to that, esp. as I'll have to do it during my lunch break.
Likewise since it took him so long, I had to call work and let them know I'd be late as I still had to shower, shave and grab food. I was only 20 min. late... which I made up some by not taking a long dinner break. HOWEVER when I got home I had to start installing and downloading stuff for the new hard drive. I was dead tired when I got home but sat up in front of my computer for two hours... getting my internet connection, installing and updating Norton's Systemworks and Firewall- that way I'd feel safe going on the internet and publishing here... and downloading other stuff. I also installed MS office last night so I could check my passwords in case I forgot them. This morning I've installed my sound, ad aware and spybot; the last two to make me more comfortable surfing the Internet.
I also have been downloading a patch for Civ 4(which all told should take about 4 hours.) After work I intend to install my printer, the software for my video card and Civ 4(and if I can stay up Sims 2).
That's about it for now, more perhaps on Monday after work. I just wanted everyone to know that my new hard drive is working and I am connected again to the World Wide Web.
And yes I did use MS word’s spell checker to check things out…. Have a sentence fragment above… but too tired and want to get to the gym… so leaving it as is. Sorry, at least everything is SPELT correctly.
