Microscrewed

I need at this point in my life LESS stress, not more… Which is why I’m pissed off at Microsoft. After I sent in my last letter to them, which was my last post here, I got a letter from Microsoft telling me how to connect to Xbox Live.
Let me repeat that. In my letter to them I had two lists- my first list starts with:
When I turned my Xbox 360 on, there is NO game in it and it is NOT connected to Xbox Live, I got the following message: “Sign In: One Profile found”.

And then goes on about what I can’t do while not connected.
Now before I started my second list; I tell them:
I then disconnected my computer and unplugged my modem for a bit. I plugged my Xbox 360 into my modem and plugged my modem back into it’s power supply.

I then went on to explain how I logged onto Xbox Live and was THEN able to access all the dlc I wasn’t able to access while NOT connected.

So I got pretty pissed off when I got Microsoft’s response:
We apologize for the inconvenience and as I understand, you cannot see or play previously downloaded premium content, such as Xbox Live Arcade games, content from Video Marketplace, game maps, game levels, or game objects, when you are not signed in to Xbox Live.

Typically, this behavior occurs if you try to use premium content that is stored on a storage device, such as an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an Xbox 360 Memory Unit, and you use that storage device on a different console than the console that you used when you downloaded the content.

Additionally, this behavior will occur if a console has been repaired or exchanged and the console ID has changed.

To use this downloaded premium content on a different console than the console that the content was downloaded to, follow these steps:
1. Connect the storage device that contains the content to the Xbox 360 console.
2. Verify that the console is connected to a high-speed Internet connection.
3. Use your gamertag to sign in to Xbox Live.
4. Access the content.

If you still cannot access the content while not connected to Xbox Live, please call Xbox Customer Support.

If you exchanged your console at a retail store, you will need to call Xbox Customer Support to have your Console ID manually updated on your content licenses.

Now I got pissed because EACH letter I’ve sent them has told them UP FRONT that my problem started when THEY sent me a new Xbox 360.
I also loved the fact that they explain to me how to connect to Xbox Live and access the content--- AGAIN AFTER I went in great detail about how I could access my stuff online.

So I called Xbox Customer Support. They told me that it takes 30 days for them to UPDATE my information about the change in my console. I told them that I was sort of unhappy with things- as I think any ONE of the emails that were sent to me could’ve mentioned- “please allow 30 days for us to update the software… after that time you should have access to your dlc.” This especially irks me because I’ve thought at some time in the future I might want a 360 with an HDMI cable. My console is ‘HDMI Ready’ but not HDMI… so I don’t think I’d want to buy the HD DVD drive that would connect to the 360 unless I had a TRUE HDMI 360.
Then again the chances of me being able to AFFORD a HD DVD drive are slim. Right now I’d settle for getting $70 together to by an upconverting DVD player.

Oh and I did just email Microsoft- and I told them I was unhappy with the email responses I’ve gotten and can they a) confirm that things should be set about 30 days from when they sent me my 360 and b) confirm that I’d get better customer service if I used the phone support.
