T.P.M.

Got to get my act together and look for a f'ing new job.

I'm just going bonkers at the gift store.

My new supervisor- the guy who got promoted over me, came up with T.P.M. aka Throws Per Minute to "encourage" me to sell more of the boomarang thing I demo. He says if I bring up my TPMs I'll bring up my sales.
I'm sure he did this to joke arround, but being the person that I am- I've taken it for needling. Likewise I'm p.o.ed that others have been amused by T.P.M.

To be exact- Friday was a mad house at the store, we were understaffed and the museum closed early for a special event. They made the gift store close early as well, BUT since we were short staffed- what happened was all the people who pushed out of the museum came into the gift store. I was on register duty all day so I wasn't demoing... and thus I got a bit peeved when someone called, I answered the phone and they said "TPM?" I assumed it was one of the teenageers needling me, so I hung up.
Turns out it was a manager of another store in the area. So TPM has spread and I'm gonna hear it until I leave....

I just don't like this, because while the supervisor might've meant well- I feel I have enough pressure trying to sell the darn boomarangs. I get asked on a regular basis how many I've sold... and since part of my patter is that "it always comes back to you." I get co-workers and customers being ammused when it doesn't come back. Likewise co-workers parrot my patter, because I don't have alot to say about the boomarang thing- I like to keep it short and sweet, as I have to grab people's attention and deal with my own utter boredom.

I also feel I should mention a) when I was surprised at how little actual money we did on friday- my manager was 'cute' and mentioned that it was because my TPM was low, I retorted that I had NO TPMs because HE had told me to ring.
b) one of the assistant managers was busy working on a list of Do/Don't firable offensives... I thought of two things 1) I wish she spent that time working on the schedule- as we didn't get the Monday-Sunday schedule for this week until YESTERDAY and 2) I bet if the manager hired LESS high school kids we wouldn't have 1/2 the problems that we do with people doing their f'ing job.

The problem is, of course, I'm a lazy mo'fo- hence my suggestion to Aimee to call me "Lazy Ass". On my days off, I want to be lazy and unwind. That's why I'm posting this- to remind myself that I've got to get off my ass if I want my life to be better.

Hope this makes sense. Little tired and wanted to post this before I got ready for the game store.

And I'm lazy too, Drew, but I have faith in you!
